The GP&S Regional Protective Services, Washington DC Lead is responsible for providing local risk monitoring, physical security advice/oversight and Crisis Management. Our new Washington DC office is a high visibility location within Accenture, attracting the most senior leaders, clients and guests. This position will be required to partner with crisis management stakeholders, security systems, and technology teams and facilitate necessary escalations. This will require acting as the true face of the firm's safety and security stance.

Key Responsibilities:

General

  • Has strong knowledge of Physical Security and Crisis Management
  • Comfortable with a highly visible customer facing role
  • Deals with difficult and sensitive situations appropriately
  • Possesses strong writing skills with the ability to quickly craft clear, succinct executive briefings
  • Passionate about customer service and possesses executive presence
  • Has extensive knowledge in behavioral threat assessment and response
  • Closely liaise with Executive Protection Team to support C-Suite executives
  • Prepares weekly status report including status, deliverable deadlines, actionable progress and attends team status meetings
  • Identifies complex or disputed issues, which have major day-to-day impact on area of responsibility and resolves with guidance from Regional Protective Services Lead/Supervisor
  • Develops and manages positive customer relationships within area of responsibility acting as a key contact for safety/security issues
  • Builds network of security professionals with both private and public sector security/Law Enforcement officials
  • Establishes near term goals and provides input to longer term goals within area of responsibility; contributes to long-term planning
  • Performs location Physical Security Reviews
  • Has general understanding of life safety and business continuity practices

Monitoring Risk Intelligence and Coordinating Incident Response

  • Highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable.
  • Monitors local risk intelligence information and provides weekly local threat environment reports to Regional Protective Services Lead
  • Coordinates and provides crisis response with Regional Protective Services Lead.
  • Activates network for disaster response.
  • Coordinates vendor/contractor response involvement.
  • Ensures security protocols are adhered to within Washington DC offices.
  • Develops law enforcement, vendor, and emergency management contacts throughout region.

Events

  • With the executive protection team, plans and provides physical security for meetings involving large partner or client attendance within Washington DC offices.
  • Assists in coordinating on-site security and contract guard support accordingly.
  • Provides security and contingency planning for market-level meetings and larger community meetings as requested.

Investigations

  • Supports the Regional Protective Services Lead and investigations team with ad hoc requests.
  • Treats operational confidence and security with utmost sensitivity

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to travel occasionally as required.
  • Role requires onsite work Monday – Friday, primarily in the DC office located at 699 14th St N.W., and throughout the National Capitol Region.
  • Ability to work overtime on short notice during critical events which could include evenings, weekend, and or holidays.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in security, emergency management, public service, and or military field.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Strong knowledge of Washington, DC area to include existing contacts in local, regional or federal law enforcement.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

    • Ability to direct and manage projects.
    • Ability to multi-task to meet team and client deliverables.
    • Ability to take initiative and successfully lead direct reports.
    • Strong customer service skills.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work well with all levels of management, staff, and external service providers.
    • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
    • Knowledge of contract management.
    • Strong knowledge of physical security standards.
    • General understanding of investigative process.
    • General understanding of security in a corporate environment.
    • General understanding of legal and corporate terminology.
    • General understanding of security technology hardware and applications.
    • Exposure and demonstrated ability to work in multicultural environments.

    Professional Skills:

    • Excellent customer service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills; able to represent the Global Protection & Security team in front of senior leaders
    • Strong decision making and critical problem-solving skills
    • Able to operate with a large degree of autonomy and independence
    • Positive attitude and high degree of initiative
    • Ability to work well with all levels of management, staff and external service providers
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet team and local deliverables
    • Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
    • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian

    Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York or Washington as set forth below.
