Job Overview:

We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide technical support for end-users in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring that end-users have the tools and resources they need to work efficiently. This role involves hands-on support, user training, and system maintenance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

End-User Support:

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for desktop systems, laptops, peripherals, and related software.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users.

  • Respond to user requests for support via phone, email, or ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers, printers, and other peripherals.

  • Assist with setting up and configuring user accounts and profiles in Active Directory (AD), Office 365, and other relevant systems.

  • Install, update, and troubleshoot various operating systems, such as Windows and macOS, as well as business applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, antivirus software).

  • Cypress Print Management activities and handling L2/L3 issues on Cypress Print Management.

Hardware & Software Management:

  • Deploy and configure desktops, laptops, and mobile devices for new users and internal staff.

  • Support hardware and software upgrades, migrations, and patches.

  • Assist with inventory management of IT assets, ensuring equipment is properly tracked and updated.

  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.

  • Work with vendors for warranty and repair support when necessary.

Networking & Connectivity Support:

  • Provide support for local area network (LAN), Wi-Fi, VPN, and remote access issues.

  • Troubleshoot internet and network connectivity problems, ensuring stable network performance.

  • Support users with remote desktop solutions and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:

  • Identify and diagnose hardware and software issues; provide prompt and effective solutions.

  • Resolve performance issues related to slow computers, applications, or network connectivity.

  • Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions in ticketing systems for tracking and future reference.

Collaboration & User Training:

  • Collaborate with IT teams for complex technical issues or system upgrades.

  • Assist in training and educating end-users on how to use new software or hardware.

  • Provide instructions on best practices for system security, data backup, and other IT policies.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain an accurate record of service requests, issues, and resolutions using the IT ticketing system.

  • Create user guides, FAQs, and other training materials for common issues or new technology.

  • Regularly report on recurring issues, and propose solutions to improve system performance or reduce incidents.

Security & Compliance:

  • Assist with maintaining system security by ensuring that antivirus software and patches are updated regularly.

  • Help enforce IT security policies, including password management, data encryption, and safe internet practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in Customer Service Technology Support
  • HS Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • On-site and remote technical support for desktop systems, laptops, peripherals, and related software.
  • Good experience in desktop support, IT support, or a related technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as major software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook).
  • Experience with remote desktop tools (e.g., TeamViewer, Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), VPN solutions).
  • Experience with Active Directory user management and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi configurations.
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, or similar) for tracking support requests.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York or Washington as set forth below.
