Atsushi Egawa is the CEO of Accenture in Japan and Co-CEO of Asia Pacific, and also a member of Accenture’s executive committee and its global management committee.
He brings with him more than 35 years of supporting and accelerating the transformation of clients across multiple sectors including manufacturing industries, telecommunications, high technologies, materials and energy, finance, and public services. He joined Accenture in 1989 and took over as CMD of Japan in 2015. He has played a pivotal role in driving the growth of Accenture in the country, which is among Accenture’s fastest-growing market units globally.
Under Egawa’s leadership, Accenture has championed digital innovation in Japan, expanding its innovation network in the country, setting up the Accenture Innovation Hub, the Accenture AI Center in Tokyo, and newer centers out of Tokyo Metropolitan area where clients can co-create new solutions using state-of-the-art technologies alongside Accenture experts. Egawa also spearheaded an initiative called Project PRIDE in Japan to drive organization wide cultural and mindset change ahead of Japan’s workstyle reformation actions.
A firm believer in the need for technology led reinvention of businesses and economies, Egawa has contributed to the promotion of AI in Japan, supporting the establishment of the Circular Economy Organization which is responsible for discovering and developing outstanding talent in the country. He is also involved in broader business and community initiatives, serving as a trustee of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives and is a member of the Board of Councilors of Sumitomo Life Insurance Company. His past advisory roles include a stint on the Management Advisory Committee of Recruit Holdings CO., Ltd.
Egawa earned his bachelor’s degree in Business and Commerce from Keio University.
