Chorus transforms billing

Chorus delivers a fit-for-purpose SAP billing system, independent from Spark, that transforms the billing process for business users and wholesale customers.

The solution designed and delivered with Zag, extended Chorus’ existing SAP platform functionality to incorporate billing through development and configuration. Project sprints delivered a modern SAP billing system that is accurate, robust and requires no reliance on Spark’s systems. The billing module integrates with Chorus’ SAP Finance system as well as the Disputes Portal developed for customers to facilitate quick invoice dispute resolution.

The project came in on time, under budget, and with no instances of revenue leakage since go-live. Chorus’ costs were significantly reduced, and customer satisfaction has improved.

Connected agriculture with Ballance Agri-Nutrients

Zag Enterprise Architects worked with Ballance to design an omni-channel eCommerce solution that removed data silos and provided complete end-to-end visibility of the customer journey. Ballance implemented SAP Hybris Commerce and Marketing components (now known as the SAP Commerce and Marketing Clouds of the C/4HAHA suite), and SAP Data Services, with the support of Zag’s experienced SAP consultants and specialist eCommerce Business Line.

More than an Ecommerce portal, ‘MyBallance: Your Farm at Your Fingertips’, gives Ballance Agri-Nutrients a 360-degree view of its customers enabling them to grow revenue streams by becoming the data integrator of the New Zealand Agriculture Industry.

The transformation program and resulting MyBallance solution saw Ballance and Zag recognised in the global SAP Innovation awards – the first New Zealand company & partner to achieve this global recognition.

InterCity go cloud first for customer experience

InterCity Group develops a world-class cloud environment fit for the customer experience era with Amazon Web Services and cloud services partner Zag.

InterCity’s existing e-commerce website was migrated to the Amazon Web Services cloud using Zag’s AirLift service. The service is not a traditional ‘lift and shift’ but a ‘lift and transform’ to a new cloud focused infrastructure and included enhancements to the website, taking advantage of the flexibility of the AWS cloud platform. In addition, Zag delivered an automated continuous deployment pipeline which allows InterCity to trigger deployments by simply committing to a repository, which allows developers to stay focused on development, fast pacing improvements.

Department of Conservation’s managed cloud

New Zealand’s Department of Conservation puts the focus back on its core competencies with Partner Managed Cloud, selecting Zag, AWS Managed Services Provider and SAP specialist its SAP environment.

In the arrangement, Zag exclusively manages DOC’s SAP on AWS environment, providing AWS platform services and SAP Basis services with Service Delivery Management, becoming the sole point of contact for all of DOC’s platform needs. DOC has kept responsibility for its data, frontend, and application functions while Zag now manages the rest of the platform responsibilities including storage, billing, networking and security, to name only a few.

In the Partner Managed Cloud model, Zag leverages the technical advantages of running SAP on AWS to deliver a unique service and support structure which maximizes the role of service automation to increase system stability, deliver project environments faster and lower operating costs.

Ballance Agri-Nutrients’ digital core

Ballance Agri-Nutrients executes a successful ERP conversion as part of its digital roadmap for achieving world-class supply chain and logistics excellence.

The project included a full ECC6 Brownfields conversion to the latest on-premise version of S/4HANA - Enterprise Management 1809, on SAP’s newly enhanced in-memory database - HANA 2. Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Sales & Distribution (SD) were among the business-critical modules migrated and upgraded along with Ballance’s existing S/4HANA Finance system.

The team built a platform fit for growth and digital transformation by laying down a future-proof technical foundation for new functional enhancements to Ballance’s SAP landscape.

Ministry of Justice cloud payroll

New Zealand’s Ministry of Justice becomes the first government organisation to go live on SAP SuccessFactors Payroll, leading the charge on addressing compliance with the Holidays Act (2003).

Zag put forward SAP SuccessFactors as a comprehensive cloud-based Human Experience Management platform that would best satisfy the Ministry’s immediate HR and payroll needs with the flexibility and modularity to cater to future workforce requirements. The implementation followed Zag’s Delivery Framework, based on SAP’s Activate Methodology that comes equipped with best practice approaches, pre-configured business processes, documentation collateral and learnings.

Beyond compliance, the Ministry and its staff are seeing advantages such as automated processes, workflows and built-in business rules which have substantially reduced the paper trail and data entry challenges that occurred with their old system.

Ballance Agri-Nutrients’ digital roadmap

Ballance Agri-Nutrients roadmap their way to a global SAP Innovation Award win, transforming from the core outwards and becoming the data-integrator of New Zealand’s agriculture industry.

Zag’s Customer Solutions team worked with Ballance to define their desired future digital state three years into the future, benchmarking against global industry standards and trends, SAP solution strategy and relevant complementary solutions. We reviewed existing business processes and information systems and worked collaboratively to identify opportunities for transformational change.

Equipped with deep technical knowledge of the current architecture of the business, a good understanding of required future landscape and the knowledge and capability to show the way between the two, Zag developed a clear roadmap detailing the most cost-effective solution investments that will enable Ballance to realise its digital vision.
