About the role
The Business Unit Director's role is to lead, inspire, set direction and drive their Account Management business unit to provide extraordinary account management service and add real value to the clients business. In addition to this, managing the delivery of exceptional creative product that meets or exceeds the clients business targets within the defined integrated strategic approach; to ensure optimum deployment of integrated 360 degree communication, facilitate problem solving, monitor the health of the clients business within the agency, deliver bottom line client profitability and grow the clients business within the business.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Client Management:
Foster and maintain close relationships with clients at a senior level, and ensure communication of any changes to clients business objectives to the team
Actively pursue business development opportunities within the client portfolio in areas that may prove to bring a favourable return on investments for clients
Share knowledge and best practice across the teams and the agency
Create accurate compressive briefs and implementation of project timelines
Deliver high standards of client satisfaction and continuously adapt and adjust approaches to benefit portfolio needs
Demonstrate an understanding of the clients and agency s business to motivate the team in providing outputs that deliver an optimal return on investment for our client
Through research and active networking within the industry, ensure that the agency and client are at the forefront of, and appraised on, industry trends and developments. Ensure that this is shared across the business
Experience working on a retail account advantageous
Team Management:
Build a strong multi-discipline account management team that can operate interdependently
Improve the team cohesion and synergy through a direct management style that rewards performance and team effort
Instill a value system within the team that is based on integrity, respect and the value of the individual in the work environment
Mentor the team through hands on training and instill a sense of accountability
Manage the careers of the team including: formal performance reviews; personal training and development plans; career planning
Participate in the department’s manpower planning and recruitment process
Champion company initiatives ensuring motivation, consistency and correct messaging
Finance & Operations:
Responsible for achieving streamlined, efficient and cost effective management of the portfolio
Identify opportunities for expanding the financial potential of the clients’ business
Manage and monitor income and efficiency in the billing ensuring financial administration adheres to best practice
Drive the ethos of cost control and income growth through to the account management team
Ensure all team members complete timesheets by deadline
Compile reports to share the overall health and status of the business unit with the management team
Ensure all team staff maintain ethos of Accenture working environment
Ensure team understand and adhere to Accenture processes, especially when engaging with traffic and production
Manage team profitability (limit over- or under-servicing of clients).
Qualifications
Qualification/Experience/Skill:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing or Communications
- Proficient in Office 365 (i.e. MS Teams/SharePoint/Outlook/Excel etc.)
- Minimum 8 years experience in Client Service in an Advertising Agency
- Well versed in Digital
- A good command of the English language (both verbal and written)
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong people management skills
- Strong negotiating and numerical skills
