Dr. Bernd Elser leads Accenture’s global Chemicals and Natural Resources practices. Bernd leads a team of strategy, function, technology, industry, engineering and Industry X professionals as they help organizations to innovate, digitize, automate, generate growth and build resilience.
With more than 20 years’ experience, Bernd works with organizations across the chemical industry—from basic and intermediate chemicals to polymers, agrochemicals, paints and coatings, industrial gases, and other specialty chemicals—as well as across the natural resources sector—including mining, metals, forest products and building materials companies. He partners with them to address their most challenging and vital business issues, drive growth, optimize business operations and extract value at the intersection of business and technology. His functional expertise covers strategy development and commercial, operational and functional excellence.
Bernd joined Accenture in 2011, leading its Chemicals and Natural Resources Strategy practices across Europe prior to taking on his current global roles.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD and a Doctor of Medicine from Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg, Germany.
