What I do

My primary task is to manage a large agile program in the financial services industry. I bring forward new ideas that can translate into business value. One of the most important things in my work is to ensure that everybody working on the project can be at their best, every day.

 

I started my career within a pension industry project and after being part of numerous projects later, I still have to say that the first one is the most memorable for me. It was made exciting by the people, whose level of intelligence, professionalism and work ethics were second to none. Our delivery was complex and full of tough situations, but the team made it look easy and we had so much fun.

A day in my life

A normal day is full of good conversations, laughter, tricky problems and new learnings. Most of the working days consist of discussions with client teams, offshore teams, financial management, HR, client account team and other internal teams. We also utilize our global network and reach out to other Accenture teams who have solved similar problems before or have experience with new technologies or products our client could benefit from.

 

After being fortunate to have a son a couple of years ago I’ve had no problems using my spare time whatsoever. Before that, I used to run, swim and play golf most of the time. Well, I still get to do them luckily, at least to some extent.

My advice

The company’s core values are often something people take for granted. At Accenture, people live up to them for real and that has created a special kind of an atmosphere I love working in. My personal favorites of our values are respect for the individual and integrity. I think they create a very solid foundation for a business.

 

From a personal level, how a career forms up is always perhaps a mixture of skill and luck. Determination and diligence help along the way and improve your chances of reaching your goals. Put yourself out there, put your heart into it and good things will happen.
