The work:

Responsibilities of an Azure Linux Administrator

An Azure Linux Administrator is responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing Linux-based workloads in Microsoft Azure. Key responsibilities include:

Core Responsibilities:

✔ Deployment & Configuration

Provision and manage Linux virtual machines (VMs) in Azure.

Configure Azure services (e.g., Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure App Services).

Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like ARM, Terraform, or Bicep.

✔ System Administration & Maintenance

Manage user access, file systems, and permissions.

Perform system updates, patches, and security hardening.

Monitor system performance using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Grafana.

✔ Networking & Security

Configure Azure Networking (VNet, NSG, Load Balancers) for Linux workloads.

Implement security best practices (firewalls, encryption, SSH key management).

Ensure compliance with Azure Security Center and CIS benchmarks.

✔ Automation & Scripting

Write Bash/Python scripts for automation.

Use Azure CLI, PowerShell, or Ansible for configuration management.

Implement CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for Linux workloads.

✔ Troubleshooting & Support

Diagnose and resolve performance issues, connectivity problems, and service disruptions.

Work with Azure Support for escalated issues.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related fields.
• At least 3-5 years’ of experience in Tableau.

Technical Skills:

✔ Azure Cloud Expertise

• Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking
• Azure Active Directory (AAD) integration with Linux
• Azure Backup & Disaster Recovery

✔ Linux Administration

• Proficiency in RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, or SUSE
• Shell scripting (Bash, Python)
• Systemd, cron, log management

✔ Security & Compliance

• SELinux, AppArmor, SSH hardening
• Azure Policy, RBAC, and IAM

✔ Automation & DevOps

• Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
• CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
• Docker & Kubernetes (AKS)

Certifications (Preferred):

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS)

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving & troubleshooting
• Collaboration with DevOps & Cloud Architects
• Documentation & knowledge sharing

Hybrid & Multi-Cloud Expertise

• Integrate on-prem Linux servers with Azure Arc.
• Support multi-cloud strategies (Azure + AWS/GCP).

Business Continuity

• Implement Azure Backup & Site Recovery for Linux VMs.
• Ensure minimal downtime with proactive monitoring.
