Job Description
Job Description and Responsibilities:
- Installation and Configuration
- Responsible for Installation and configuration of IBM MQ on z/OS
- Setup and manage queue managers, queues , channels and listeners
- Configure MQ clustering and High Availability solutions
- Administration and Maintenance
- Monitor and maintain MQ objects (queue managers, queues, channels, triggers)
- Apply patches, updates and perform version upgrades
- Performance Monitoring and Tuning
- Monitoring MQ performance using tools like IBM MQ Explorer, Tivoli
- Tune queue depths , log sizes and buffer pools for optimal performance
- Identify and resole bottlenecks in message processing.
- Troubleshooting and Incident Management
- Analyze MQ error logs, dumps and traces to determine root causes
- Diagnose and resolve MQ connectivity issues and message delays
- Disaster Recovery and Backup :
- Implement MQ replication, backup and recovery procedures
- Participate in DR testing and ensure high availability of MQ services
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of: IBM Websphere MQ, IBM z/OS Systems Administration
- Knowledge of z/OS functions, high level knowledge of architecture and hardware
- Thorough knowledge of using JCL, IBM & ISV Utilities used
- Overall knowledge of other support areas like z/OS, Storage and Database
- Troubleshooting skills to quickly resolve the critical issues
- Good to have: IBM CICS (Customer Information Control System)
- At least 3 years of IBM MQ Experience
