Job Title: Native Japanese Cloud Engineer (Compute Specialization)
Client & Project Overview:
We are seeking a talented Cloud Engineer with a specialization in Compute to join our Cloud Engineering team supporting the Google Workspace Support project for our client. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, optimizing cloud computational resources to meet evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Cloud Engineer (Compute Specialization), you will:
Design, deploy, and manage cloud-native solutions to enhance application development and infrastructure scalability.
Specialize in managing and optimizing computational resources across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) to ensure efficient allocation of processing power.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in cloud compute services, providing technical guidance to the team and key stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in cloud operations and resource optimization.
Conduct regular assessments, performance tuning, and automation of cloud-native tools and architectures.
Provide troubleshooting support and root cause analysis for cloud infrastructure issues.
Drive team-level and cross-team decisions to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science or related fields.
8+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on compute services and cloud operations.
Advanced proficiency in Cloud Computing, with hands-on experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Strong knowledge of cloud compute services, instance scaling, load balancing, and cost optimization techniques.
Intermediate proficiency in Cloud Design and Build, including experience with custom application architectures.
Advanced expertise in Linux operations, including system administration, performance tuning, and security best practices.
Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, or Google Cloud Certified are a plus.
Technical Skills:
Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP (specialization in at least one cloud platform).
Linux/Unix Fundamentals:
Command line tools (cp, cat, mv, cd, pwd, grep, vi, ls, lsblk, chmod, nano, sudo, ping, ssh, netstat, curl, ifconfig, touch) – Intermediate to Advanced.
File systems, directories, access control, symbolic links, partitioning, disk management – Intermediate.
Linux Boot Process, GRUB, kernel management – Intermediate.
Virtualization concepts and cloud-based VM management – Intermediate.
Linux troubleshooting, logging, and monitoring tools – Intermediate.
Networking fundamentals (firewalls, routing, VPNs) – Intermediate/Basic.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide architectural recommendations to support business-specific cloud requirements.
Document processes, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-sharing materials.
Collaborate with Level 3 support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
Continuously evaluate and improve existing cloud strategies to align with industry best practices.
