Job Description

We are looking to hire a workplace health and safety professional to support our employees and visitors safety in our Nordic offices. You will be part of Nordic safety and security team, with key stakeholders being HR, local Workplace teams, health and safety vendors. The role has a focus on our Latvia and Lithuania offices where you will be performing certain tasks also around health and in the Nordic region the focus is more on coordinating on office safety topics and related company policies closely with local teams, health being covered by HR and their vendors.

Baltic Responsibilities, working with local health and safety vendors:

  • Collaborate with local vendors and other stakeholders on health and safety requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate mandatory health check, safety trainings and annual safety risk assessments.
  • Stay informed about changes in health and safety regulations in Baltics and industry best practices and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Investigate and report incidents, identifying root causes, and ensuring completion of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Nordic Region (including Baltics) Responsibilities:

  • Following legal requirements and Accenture standards; conduct as needed workplace risk assessments, inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and mitigate them.
  • Implement on local level global occupational health and safety programs and operations to prevent people from work-related injury or illness in the workplace.
  • Possibly support new certifications for ISO45001 and other similar certifications.
  • Drive the completion of safety training and orientation for new employees, contractors, and visitors. Maintain safety records, including incident reports, training documentation, and inspection findings.
  • Support other Nordic locations with the existing global Health and Safety reporting tool if needed and act as liaison with global team for any changes and updates related to the tool.
  • Follow-up the completion of emergency preparedness training (including but not limited to evacuation plans, fire response, and first aid protocols and their associated drills) for employees, based on legal requirements and Accenture standards..
  • Participate in safety committees and meetings to discuss safety issues, initiatives, and goals. Provide feedback on the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives. Provide guidance and support to employees on safety-related concerns and inquiries.
  • Promote awareness of health and safety issues through internal communications and campaigns.
  • Assist with the procurement and maintenance of safety equipment, personal protective equipment, and emergency supplies if needed.
  • Provides timely and accurate reporting of Safety performance to key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Skills/Competencies:

  • Advanced command of spoken and written English and Latvian
  • Occupational Health and Safety certification
  • Strong detail orientation and task ownership; problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent client handling and communication skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills (especially MS Excel)
  • Risk averse, situationally aware
  • ISO 45001 training and experience is seeing as an advantage
