Desktop Support Engineer 
Location: Portsmouth (100% on site applicants must be within commutable distance)
Competitive salary & package (dependent on experience)

Please Note: Any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC security clearance which requires 5 years continuous UK address history and declaration of being a British passport holder with no dual nationalism at the point of application. As a Desktop Engineer you will join the IT team in its support of the Digital Workplace and Networks. 

Within the digital workplace you will be involved in desktop and mobile phone build and distribution activities as well as building up your skills to support these areas. 

In the network area you will be involved with network cable patching, assisting with the installation and removal of hardware, as well as building up your skills in the areas of basic TCP/IP and network configuration. 

The selected candidate will be proactive, with an enthusiastic approach for learning new skills and technologies. A flexible and positive attitude are key to this role. 

Qualifications

Primary Job Responsibilities 

  • Build and deploy Microsoft Windows desktop and laptop devices. 

  • Deployment of mobile phone devices. 

  • Auditing and disposal of equipment. 

  • Working alongside experienced engineers to provide 2nd line desktop support. 

  • Network cabling 

  • Asset database management 

  • Physical handling of network equipment 

Desired Skills and Experience 

  • Good computer skills and keenness to learn. 

  • Excellent customer focused communication skills 

  • Good organisational skills.

  • Experience with Anti-Virus tools and SCCM/MECM.

  • 3rd Line Support.
