IUEC is an annual global event dedicated to driving reinvention across the value chain and navigating the journey to net zero.

Momentum for net zero

For over three decades, IUEC has been the premier event for senior executives in the utilities and energy sectors. The 2024 edition focused on the role of technology in driving reinvention and greater resilience on the path to net zero. The discussions were particularly centered on achieving a balance between decarbonization and business growth, including industry use cases for technologies such as Generative AI.

At the heart of IUEC are the people

Our Chair and Chief Executive Officer, Julie Sweet, hosted senior executives from around the globe. Attendees had the opportunity to establish peer-to-peer connections and engage in insightful conversations. They experienced the magic of Portuguese hospitality in the charming town of Cascais, which served as the setting for the conference.

During IUEC we have discussed Gen AI challenges, opportunities and practical applications for utilities. Highlights included Gen AI Studios workshop, where leaders learned about the opportunity to go beyond productivity and reinvent their business.

IUEC attendees visited MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, owned and run by the EDP Foundation. After the visit, they enjoyed a cocktail while taking in the spectacular panorama of Lisbon.
