The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible for analyzing data and defining requirements for technology solutions in projects or products. The role requires taking an unstructured business problem and produce and present clear, fact-based recommendations to the business partners, and ease their transition towards implementation. The recommendation could include an organizational structure, a people training, a process change, and modifications to business rules or implementation of new technology, or a combination of all.
WORK YOU’LL DO
Requirement Analysis: Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements related to payment processing, ensuring alignment with industry standards such as ISO 20022, SWIFT CBPR+ , Lynx, Fedwire etc.
Payments Lifecycle Expertise: Provide insights into end-to-end payment processing, covering origination, processing, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation across different payment rails.
Payments Platform Knowledge: Work with a modern payments platforms assisting in configuration, integration, and enhancements.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business teams, technology teams and vendors to ensure smooth implementation of the payment solutions.
Data Mapping & Messaging Standards: Understand payment message formats, including MX, MT, and APIs, and assist in data mapping for seamless system integration.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure payment processes adhere to regulatory requirements, including ISO 20022, Fintrac and central bank regulations.
Testing & Implementation Support: Review test cases, validate payment flows, and support SIT/ UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and post-implementation validation.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize and automate payment processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience with the end-to-end payments lifecycle , covering origination, processing, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation across different payment rails.
Experience of working with modern payments platforms like Volante, FIS , Fiserv EPP and Finastra GPP, assisting in configuration, integration, and enhancements.
Strong knowledge of ISO 20022, in-depth understanding of MT/MX message structures, and experience in cross-border and wire payments like CBPR+, LYNX , FEDWIRE payment formats.
Experience of working in an Agile environment
Gather functional and non-functional requirements from various stakeholders through workshops and interviews and create functional specification documents.
Develop business processes flows, processing workflows or data flows.
Verify the target solution and support the technology to ensure that the target system will meet the requirements.
Test the solution to validate the project requirements and objectives.
Develop effort estimation for requirements elicitation activities.
Facilitate meeting/interviews and communicate requirements to sponsors, stakeholders and project team members.
This role will require ability to attend to the client site for at-least 2 days every week in Toronto, ON.
