The Payments Automation Tester We are seeking a skilled Payments Automation Tester to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, with a focus on payment systems and automation. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and functionality of our payment processing systems.

WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Create test cases, automation scripts and traceability matrices based on business requirements documents and system design documents
  • Create and / or maintain automated test data sets as well as validate test environments
  • Organize and prioritize team's needs within given automation toolset to ensure execution is as effective as possible
  • Responsible for organizing and delivering End-To-End testing within a Project
  • Maintain communication lines and provide regular status updates on test progression and status
  • Coordinate testing timelines and interactions with dependent systems and delivery teams
  • Mitigate risks / issues / dependencies throughout testing process
  • Coordinate / provide high level and low-level test estimates
  • Contribute to and maintain team’s internal knowledge base and automation tool set.
  • Pro-actively seek to make continuous improvements to test coverage, execution and test automation
  • Work with JIRA for test case management, defect management, test reporting, and other functions.
  • Participate in defect triage, publish test execution, and defect metrics reports to Practice Lead/QE Manager and project stakeholders
  • Able to work independently and with minimal guidance and direction
  • This role will require ability to attend to the client site for at-least 2 days every week in Toronto, ON.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Over 7 years of expertise in testing planning, design, automation, and execution
  • Strong knowledge of new / advanced techniques and approaches in testing and automation
  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end payment processing, covering origination, processing, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation across different payment rails.
  • Experience of working with modern payments platforms like Volante and Finastra GPP, assisting in configuration, integration, and enhancements.
  • Proficiency in ISO 20022, SWIFT MT/MX, CBPR+, LYNX payment formats.
  • Experience in working with different tech stacks like Mainframe, Web, API etc.
  • Experience in:
    • UI test automation tools (Selenium WebDriver, Mainframe automation (HACL))
    • API testing (using RestAssured, JUnit, Postman or similar)
    • Test Artifact Management tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience in continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Testing (CT) to streamline QE processes (Git, Maven, Jenkins)
  • Good experience with SDLC practices of Agile, Behavioral and Test-Driven Development (Lean, Scrum, XP or similar) and their corresponding tooling.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage complex application / solution issues as needed, escalating to leadership or other stakeholders when necessary
  • Collaborative team player and ability to play a leadership role in the team
  • Future focused - foresees issues and gaps and identifies industry trends
