Mauro Macchi is Accenture's market unit lead for ICEG (Italy, Central Europe and Greece) and the country managing director of Accenture in Italy. He is also a member of Accenture's Global Management Committee.
Mauro was previously the Strategy & Consulting Lead for Europe. He oversaw all aspects of Strategy & Consulting, working with C-suite executives and boards of Europe's leading organizations to help them accelerate their digital transformation to enhance competitiveness, grow profitability and deliver sustainable value.
Before assuming that role, he was the Financial Services Europe Lead where he was responsible for setting the group's overall vision and strategy, for sales and revenue growth, and for guiding the development of client relationships. He also led the Financial Services in Italy, Central Europe and Greece client service group, overseeing Accenture's work with banks, insurers and capital markets firms in the region. He has helped some of Europe's largest banks execute major transformation programs spanning mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, and sales and distribution.
Since joining Accenture in 1990, Mauro has held a variety of roles. He was the global Banking industry lead for Accenture Strategy and from 2012 to 2015, he served as Accenture Strategy lead for Europe, Africa and Latin America, helping clients across all industries improve their competitive advantage in markets being transformed by digital technologies. He was previously Management Consulting lead for Italy, Greece and Emerging Markets, and Management Consulting lead for Financial Services in Europe, Africa and Latin America.
He has been a board member of the Accenture Foundation in Italy for more than 10 years, contributing to the development of programs that accelerate digital transformation in the non-profit sector. He is a passionate advocate for inclusion, diversity and mentoring initiatives.
Mauro has a degree in economics and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California Irvine Graduate School of Management.
