Atsushi Egawa leads Accenture’s market unit in Japan. He is also a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee.
In this role, he led Accenture’s acquisition of IMJ Corporation, a leading full-service digital agency in Japan, to drive efforts to help clients with their digital transformation. He also took the initiative to establish a joint venture with a global SPA (Specialty store retailer of Private label Apparel) company to create innovative experiences for consumers. He continues to accelerate the digital transformation in Japan and was integral in the opening of the Accenture Innovation Hub in Tokyo in 2018. Furthermore, since January 2015, Atsushi has led an initiative at Accenture in Japan to change and improve the workstyle and mindset of all employees—this initiative preceded the government's workstyle reformation actions.
Prior to assuming his current role in September 2015, Atsushi was the lead for Accenture’s Japan Products industry. He led the consumer goods business with a focus on business strategy, business transformation, new business launches, digital transformation and large-scale outsourcing. Before this, he worked with numerous clients in manufacturing, retail and other industries including communications, high technology, materials and energy, financial services and public service.
Atsushi is a trustee of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives and a member of the Board of Councillors of Sumitomo Life Insurance Company. He previously served as a member of the Management Advisory Committee of Recruit Holdings CO., Ltd. (from April 2017 to March 2019).
Atsushi joined Accenture in 1989 and became a partner in 2000. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Commerce from Keio University.
