Our commitment to pay equity

Accenture is committed to equal pay for equal work. Pay equity at Accenture means that our people receive pay that is fair and consistent when considering similarity of work, location, and tenure at career level. We conduct a global annual pay equity review; as of our last review in December 2023, we have dollar for dollar, 100% pay equity for women compared to men in every country where we operate (certain subsidiaries and recent acquisitions, countries with de minimis headcount, temporary employees and interns were excluded from the analysis). Our performance and reward schemes are gender-neutral and ensure we pay in line with the market and based on impact and skills. We believe inclusion and diversity unleashes innovation and creates a culture of equal opportunity. We use various methods, including market-leading analysis, remuneration audits to ensure all our people – women and men – are compensated fairly and equitably from the moment we hire them through the milestones of their careers.

The WGEA gender pay gap reporting approach is designed to calculate the difference in the median earnings between men and women, irrespective of level and job responsibility. Using this methodology, Accenture Australia’s median gender pay gap for the 12 months ending 31 March 2023 stands at 17.5% considering total remuneration and 15.8% considering base pay. The gap has reduced from the previous year at 18.9% for total remuneration and 17.3% for base pay.

The main driver and key underlying factor of Accenture Australia’s gender pay gap published by WGEA is due to a lower representation of women at our more senior career levels as the pay gap is not adjusted for any factors that affect pay such as level and job responsibility. 

 

We are making progress towards our global goal of a 50:50 gender-balanced workforce by 2025. In Australia, 33% of our current managing directors are women as of 31 March 2023.

Accenture is committed to equality and our median gender pay gap in Australia continues to decrease because of our efforts to attract and retain women at all levels, in particular at senior levels. Our goal of reducing our median gender pay gap will be reached by setting and achieving gender goals for leadership & each career level.
