CloudTracker

Cloud Foundations Framework – multi-cloud scaled

While hybrid, multi-cloud and poly-cloud implementations can deliver significant value, they also add cost and complexity through duplication of tools, services and staffing.

Accenture Federal Services’ Cloud Foundation Framework is a collection of tools and accelerators for single-pane management of hybrid and multi-cloud environments. It provides end-to-end cloud management capabilities spanning business, cloud and security requirements. This framework builds off Microsoft Azure’s native controls but is easily extensible to AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, on-prem & edge devices.

With Cloud Foundation Framework, agencies can optimize management and operating costs for existing multi-cloud implementations. It can also accelerate the deployment of new Azure tenants and scale out remote desktop services to the cloud. With its open architecture, Cloud Foundation Framework can help upgrade existing cloud security implementations to a zero-trust operating model.

Federal IT leaders are embracing edge computing

Once viewed primarily as a network accelerator for field-based sensors, edge computing is emerging rapidly as an intelligent orchestrator of complex processes and applications operating beyond the traditional perimeter. Given the need to execute a highly distributed mission – whether patrolling the base perimeter, protecting our borders, or optimizing transportation networks and monitoring the environment – the U.S. federal government is poised to benefit from these evolving technologies.

Federal IT leaders should assess how their architectures and networks can enable and capitalize on edge computing. And program leaders should consider how data generated by Internet of Things (IoT) devices like cameras and sensors can be enriched in the field to enable smarter, more autonomous operations.

According to Accenture research, federal leaders have high expectations, with more than 9 in 10 saying that edge solutions are very or extremely important to meeting their agency's mission needs.
